The 2010 season will be upon us very quickly so we need to have some ideas for how the upcoming season will be conducted.
Tuesday 23rd February at 6.00pm has been set down for the meeting to work out what will happen in 2010. Please come along, put forward your suggestions and assistance and share in our positive results for 2010.
We Need Your Help
Water Safety
If you wish to do water safety for the nippers on Sunday mornings or at carnivals you can do your Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion. You do not have to go onto the patrol roster if you wish to do watersafety for the Nippers. Assistance is also required on the beach helping with the different events that occur. That extra pair of eyes is always welcome.
Officials
Officials are needed to help out at carnivals. We need to have 1 official for every 10 competitors. There is an Officials Course being conducted in July and you will officiate at Mission Beach Carnival.
BBQ Chefs
If we can get a few budding chefs to char the sausages on Sunday mornings it would save some of our parents helping on the beach and then having to cook the BBQ. We cook about 50-60 sausages and hash browns each Sunday.
Club Tent
The Club Tent could go up each Sunday. It gives good shade down the beach for the parents/grandparents and younger siblings while being able to watch the nippers go through their paces. It requires 4 people to put it up and take down (10 minutes of entertainment)
Toliet Cleaning!
Well, someone's got to do it! It takes roughly 15 minutes to hose them out and replenish the loo rolls.
Club Photographers
Become officially accredited to take photos at Nippers and carnivals.
Upcoming Courses
There will be courses run in the following awards before the start of the season: Age Group Managers, Surf Rescue Certificate, Bronze Medallion, Resuscitation and Officials. Please contact Rose, Yoko or Lisa if you are interested in any awards. The more qualified helpers we get, the smoother our Nipper days and carnivals will run.

Carnival Training
U8-U10: TBA
U11-U13: Tuesday afternoons at 4.00pm
U14-U17: Tuesday afternoons at 4.30pm
Parents are welcome to stay for training as extra eyes are always needed when children are in the water.
Extra Training
Run Group: Monday 5:00 - 5:30pm at Mission Beach State School - $5 cost.
Swim Training: Friday 4:00 - 5:00pm at Tully Pool.
